FREEDOM


In the moments that follow
After you're gone
The truth I must swallow
Thus write a song

A heartune of hope
One of forgiving
When your answer is nope
To be with me living

Like a slap in the face
It comes to my mind
How I'm put in my place
To be left behind

While above you love stands
If you look up at the sky
On your knees clasp your hands
Look into the mind's eye

What do you see there
That childhood of yours
As you sit in your chair
As the misery pours

I understand fully
I will live without
I won't be a bully
Your wish I won't doubt

So in the future if I'm busy
Doing housework multitasking
If I'm cussing in a tizzy
It's because I won't be asking

Or begging
Or pleading
Or ragging
Or needing

You to ever live with me
I will be without
Further, I can be free
And if I am free, I have no doubt

That I am for me
Like you are for you
That way both free
We can do anything we want to!
