On a long search for an outlaw on the run
A bounty hunter rode into a small town scattering dust on the ground
In a Cantina he stopped for a cool brew ,
detained by a dancing senorita with eyes of golden brown
Who danced with fury of fire
Her heart burning with desire
for a lover of long ago.

His heart was beating wildly
with the tempo of a native drum,
As he watched her twirling fury
wanting to meet her before his next run.

In strolled a tall lanky windburnt stranger
Guns dangling from a holster which made the ladies sigh
The senorita stopped dancing running to his side
She flung her arms around him and started to cry.

This was her true lover of long ago
Passing through town on a posse run
He stopped for her kiss and a last interlude
Not knowing a bounty hunter was after him with a gun.

Unaware of the stranger's hold on the Senorita
The bounty-hunter jumped to rescue
her from his grip
As the gun went off that was dangling from the strangers hip
One bullet through two lovers hearts pushed a panicked bounty hunter high on the run.
