SHELTERED ONE
Tucked away
in your
synthetic womb
safe within
its sacred walls
protected,
sustained,
coccooned
in a life
not created
by you
Choices,
those not made,
no voice,
no courage,
paralyzing fear
are
what put you
here
'Til finally,
long overdue
labor pangs
a birthing,
a death,
one life for another
Will you thrive?
Or,
ripped from the
darkness of
your sheltered
existence
become
stillborn?
