Denial

Tomorrow's medication will arrive,
A soldier, still in some form...
of denial, for, these words I contrive,
Proud one, in your awesome uniform...

Events lead too, trauma, your fierce fight
Whose Nightmares disturb sleep, relentless
for no reason, you're often up all night,
some can be cold, afraid, pursued, ruthless,

A haunting voice, for a bloody fierce fight,
now angry, why many did die, freedom,
your mind wanders aimlessly, all night
you misunderstand, why you even exist,

Thoughts assault yet another soldier's brain,
The willful remember but have little sorrow
'Our Soldier's are in pain'
Our fight, for their fight to endure tomorrow,

Meds for tomorrow's fighting, mental fear...
Need, induction to one's own Srink,
would say 'placate me not, please lay here'
Psyche lay bare, impulses exposed, you think

As flashback episodes erupt...
sounds, smells, certain sights
intense thoughts, emotions emerge
rage wanting to be elsewhere, one fights

Psychologist will record, recommend Meds
"this soldier is depressed, will need rest"
another Srink thinking, will cry, dreads
PTSD, the length of time, slow cure at best

Think again- That think- a war was won?
stress will cost a tity bit
herein I scribe, show many a symptom
was, is, hard to admit - Denial.
