Spare me the crown if You'd be so kind,
spare me all the riches of the world if You really don't mind,
For all these things mean nothing to me if You don't have You,
All the praise and all the glory that rightfully belong to You means
nothing to me without a firm hand that says Stop, don't do that whenever
I go astray,
For all I really want from You is a friendship if You really don't mind
and the main thing that I want You to say to me is Stop, don't do that
whenever I need to be put into my place,
For I am nothing without Your love, Your grace, and even Your admonishments!
So I ask You to please spare me the crown along with all the fame and glory
that will only pass me by,
But please do not spare me Your friendship as well as the word STOP
whenever I do, say, or think something that's not pleasing to You in
the name of Love!
