Spare Me The Gifts
Spare me the gifts,
spare me the money,
spare me the material things if you don't mind,
For these things mean absolutely nothing to me if I can't
have you,
For you mean a whole lot to me and all I really want is for
you to be my friend,
And not only do I want you to be my forever friend but I want you
to please tell me to STOP whenever I step out of line,
Whenever you feel that I'm being selfish, inconsiderate, arrogant,
or just a complete jerk, I need you to please tell me to STOP if you
don't mind!
And please spare me the gifts,
spare me the money and please spare me the material things if you don't
mind,
But please do not spare me your friendship and the word STOP if you'd be
so kind!
