In my Senior year in high school I transfered schools
I wanted dearly to be in my old school but was overruled
One day I met a new friend different school than mine
We shared a love of sports so we got a long real fine
In my youthful day we would golf three times a week
But you see that's not my game a new endeavor I must seek
He claimed I destroyed the friendship by avoiding him
It was just I didn't want to play a game I could never win
So he called me on the phone last week we were to get together
I thought I would even take the game up again but in climate weather
But then he said to me you are probably voting Republican
Not so well read in politics like me a democrat favorite son
I said my friend I am independent not yet made up my choice
He said, "Do you know someone called one of our Senator's a b---?"
I said I think they may be right for she won't make me party switch
He slammed the phone down saying rudely, "Goodbye we're done"
You see it wasn't only golf, looked at the receiver, "Friend I have to run."
