Poetry For Everyday People

Bars Friends Life

She said
waste your time baby
dying here
in my eyes
let your soul
float in my hallow
bones
get use to the blood baby
it's warm
souls like it warm

I remember
the smell of lilac
and a vibe brushing
against me
all day and night,
the hair on my arms
buzzing with her death
trying to hang on,

somehow still
trusting her friend enough
to think I could grab her back,

but she was gone

and neither one of us
knew it yet.
