What took you so long

Written at 14 and a half years old
(about a guy i thought loved me when i was younger, but goodness knows that it was)

What took you so long
You know i'd treat you
Like the prince
i thought you are
I'd never give up on you
I wouldn't stop until
You're here with me
What took you away
What made you say no
I thought you loved me
The way you spoke to me
Pressed your heart out like juice
The way you bit your lip just to say hello
The roses and the wonderful smiles, the bows and wishing
I heard it all i saw it all i wasn't interested in love that way
Then you dragged me in and spun me around making me think i had a chance
What took you so long to play with my heart why'd you not hurry on up coz
Now i am wounded and hurting coz you said no it was so painful my heart actually broke
I believed in you
What took you to
This point and you
Knew i was kind and sweet
You could have known me
Alot more better
I'll make you feel
Like the prince
I thought you are
Like you'd deserve
I wouldn't care if i had
To be a woman and a man
I'd be both to make you happy
I'd work outside and inside
I'd do it all for you
I would have if you didn't say no
Now its goodbye
