Aging Ain't For Sissies

Aging is quite the process;
how it's done we haven't a clue.
It's certainly ain't no laughing matter.
I sure wish we could undo.

All the damage we did to ourselves,
from youth on when some were just a
tot. Why did we put those damp clothes
on? Now our joints hurt us a lot.

Why didn't we eat all our vegetables?
Because they taste nasty to me.
Now our sight is terrible and we can't
see having many other deficiencies.

Why did we take chances with ourselves? Because we
saw at the moment our own fun.
Now knees, backs and neck problems
are the results, now that we are done.

It takes special effort to do;
for some use a walker or cane.
Not even fifty and oxygen is needed.
Now to me that's truly insane.

Our hair was once a youthful color
but now we try coloring the gray away.
Our skin might be softer as we grow
older but those wrinkles are here to stay.

These changes are just like magic.
They appear Johnny on the spot.
Our youthful appearance and vigor
starts to diminish. This aging will take
all that we've got.

These aging affects are not waiting for
our senior year's as we once thought.
Its debut is as early as our teen years;
oh yeah! at that age some are caught.

Once this aging process get its
momentum; we all must be prepared
to travel that road. Till God's day
come and correct this problem; this will be one heavy load.

This is just a reflection of our aging
process today; not to mention the
damage man has made on our
environment and sustaining life, a
health hazard but for them a huge payday.

They have done so much to endanger
us; affecting our health and even our
lives. They've also made it hard for us
aging ones to get help no matter how hard we strive;

To make the needed adjustments
so we all can live a healthful life;
but all they do is lie and ignore
our cries, this in turn causes much strife.

So at this time of aging be all you can
possibly be. You must have God, a
strong mind, strong will, and strong
constitution because AGING JUST AIN'T FOR SISSIES
