That Sad Day

Hello; Over the past 2 years my 12 year granddaughter lost her
Grandmother and a cousin. Her consin Rebekah was only 4 months old.
Caitlin has started writing poetry and she and I have written some together.
This poem was written by her alone. She sent it to me last night. I am posting it
here on my site because I think she has started to develop her own talent.
Please feel free to leave her a feedback.  Edwin J Smith

That Sad Day

When you were with us we loved you so
And I know we all wished you didn't have to go
There were a lot of tears shed over you
But friends and family helped get us through
Why did you have to leave? Some of us didn't understand
Mainly because it wasn't what we had planned
That day we all gathered to say goodbye
No one could help not to cry
But why think about the sadness that has come of this
When there are many good memories that still exist
Our hearts will never repair
But each day there is a little less despair
