I wanna grow up to be a cowboy like Cal
And become everybody's favorite pal,
I wanna learn to rope and tag them cows
Work the fields and learn how to plow..
I want a ranch close enough to heaven's sky
Where I can hear God's birds sing and fly,
With nature's sweet waters running free
Bringing God's Holy Life to you and me..
A cowboy's life is filled with all of God's love
As he tends to God's creations from above,
A fine example to family and children is he
As he takes time out to pray on bended knee..
He spreads his knowledge of work and play
And gives thanks to God at end of each day,
If I could do all these things when I grow up
It's a cowboy like Cal that would fill my cup..
