 Some Things Never Change
He was a bloke that always done the right thing
All through his life in every possible way~
He married and did his best to provide
But work is not always on the doorstep come what may~
People strive to get ahead so he went away
To work upon large projects and thus so~
Receive ever so much more in his pay for her
So away to the big money he decided thus to go~
His wife now and his children still young
Stayed home to take care of the home~
And the very second he would go back to work
All his so called mates they knew she was alone~
They as if on shifts would call on her
To simply ask if she was at home doing fine~
But some things in life never ever change
You know what they all had upon their mind~
Married men most were too with children
And here he was so far away from home ~
And he never dreamed almost all those he knew
Were calling around as she was now on her own~
Pure mongrels of society every one of them
Still today so many can easily be found~
A woman on her own with chores and children
And they'll all come sniffing around~
But the very sad part about it all
With constant calling one of them~
Gets to convince a woman on her own
That he is actually a real true friend~
He knows one day she will be sad
And guess what he'll be right there~
To give her a hug and all the comfort and
Soon his love beyond compare~
It's only got to happen once it's true
And right then it is to late~
There's no way he convinces her
That she can tell her man and wipe the slate~
So every now and then he calls again
To make sure she's OK~
And very soon the neighbors see him
Leaving just before the light of day~
He always gets to find out if
Hubbies coming home to see~
How his wife and loving children are
His cherished family~
So this bloke how he stays away
As he knows it would kill hubby thus to find~
That one of his best mates in life
Has been in his absence pulling down her blinds~
And when he goes back to work again
Thinking he is saving all that be~
It all gets a little too much for her
And her hubby then is down now his family~
Some things in life never change
And they get away with it every time~
A bloke going away to make a quid and a living
And comes home to almost lose his mind~
They wonder why in this day and age
A man does not like leaving home~
To go away and make all that big money
And to eventually lose everything he owned~
