the love that never was

Such a fool to believe that you belonged to me
We were a loving couple in my fantasy
It was nothing but me wanting you so badly
I loved you madly
The feelings were not reciprocated
And the love I had soon became hated
Thinking about you kissing other men
Broke my poets pen
I wanted to be loved for me
Not to be a little girls necessity
I heard through the grapevine
That you would never be mine
And that you had meet someone
I felt like I was crashing into the sun
What a cruel world I see
I cried so much a river ran through me
I dreamed at night of being kissed
And the endless opportunities that I missed
I do not hate you
To say that, would not be true
It was that I never felt so much loss
Over a love that never was
