the trans Siberian express

Upon the blue snake i ride
as it twists and turns through the countryside
i feel the cold war melting by a countries pride
i see wooden houses i fields of green
i see what Russia might have been

upon the carriage i talk to faces
as the train stops in different places
i drink their vodka to sleep at night
and with a hangover from hell i awake to the same old sight
of tress and huts and old Russian ladies
who can't be that old as they carry their babies

the train stops a lot in industrial neighborhoods
but then quickly disappears back into the woods
i have been five days on tis train
looking at landscape that is the same
but i am never bored, never insane
i have time to reflect and rest
on this epic journey, the trans Siberian express
