Poetry For Everyday People

Two Heroes In Love

I was broken
in two,
you were broken
too,
I fixed
some of you,
you found
some
of my lost,
we glued back
what was
hanging on,

we held hands
and swore
in silence
the voe
of
the broken:

"thou shall not betray"

as parts
of us
we know
little of
locked
in the basements
of our minds
sharpen
steel memories
with dull pain,

digging
our graves
full of
dry red roses
gathered
from the hearts
of old books
with new lives

strolling
into the final
romantic sunset.
