At last it dawned, my wedding day,
My goodness I'm all nervy,
Me bottle's gone, I'm in a sweat,
Me mind is topsy turvy.
Then I'm ready, and out the door,
Side by side, with dad,
Down the pathway, toward the car,
When its over I'll be glad.
Along the path we did walk,
Two dogs were running mad,
Started fighting on me train,
'Oh, no!' I shouted, 'dad!'
Dad shoo'd them off, I felt relieved,
Then we got in the car,
The church was only down the road,
Its really not that far!
Around the corner, nearly there,
It happened all of a sudden,
A woman crashed into our car,
Me poor head started thuddin'.
I cried as I sat with me poor bashed head,
But me dad jumped out real quick,
Ranted and raved, at the woman, he fumed,
But me, I just felt sick.
Well the car wont go, dad was off his head,
What were we gona do,
Then a tatty taxi stopped by us...
Me auntie shouted, 'it's for you!'
We sat in the taxi I was all upset,
My goodness look at the time,
Twenty minutes late, oh heck!
Dad said we'd be just fine.
Out of the taxi, into the church,
The congregation all of a dither,
Priest had told my groom to wait,
'Cos the bride was coming hither!'
Then it was over, what a day,
Every thing was late,
Photographer cant take no photo's now,
He'll come back later, he was in a state!
We all went to the hall,
The wedding table was nicely set,
We had lots of food and drink,
But the photies still not taken yet!
As we sat to eat, I had an awful shock,
Two little girls walked in with a box,
They saw the crash then went the shop,
Spent their pocket money on some choc's.
All that happened, and then a surprise,
It made my heart feel glad,
That two little girls, with hearts of gold,
Showed that not everything in life is bad!
