"Do You Cry?"
Such a beautiful treasure you were
Bringing to us . . .so much joy
We were fulfilled, when blessed
With our sweet little baby boy . . .
We waited so long, for our dream
A son, to add to our family . . .
Happiness brought, on a sunbeam
For we waited so long, you see
You grew into such a good boy
Quiet, gentle. . .Not harsh and loud
Always concerned for others. . .
Making all of your family proud
You seemed so content with life
Learning. . . As you grew
You were always asking questions
So inquisitive, about the new
One day you came and asked
"Mom. . . Do you ever cry?
I'm only asking mom, ‘cause
I've never seen a tear in your eye"
My answer was so simple . . .
I said "For me to cry, takes a lot
And I have been so very blessed
And happy with what I've got"
" When something makes me feel real bad
I go to God, and I pray . . . .
And if I cry, its He that sees
Then He dries my tears away"
"But. . . If you ever see me cry
You'll know, I am hurt real bad
For whatever the cause might be
It had to be something, real sad"
Years have passed. . .Since that day
You had your own life, to mind
Thinking back, I never saw your faults
Because. . . A Mothers love, is blind
I tried not to notice when you didn't call
Or stop to visit, just to say "Hello"
I tried not to expose how bad I was hurt
On holidays, when you didn't show . . .
I wonder if you think of us, at times
I hear that you are "Okay" from others
But I suppose you don't understand
This loving heart, of your Mother's
This separation has made my heart hurt
Missing you, the Son. . . I Begat
Yes my son, I cry many tears now . . .
Life has certainly seen to that!
