June's Rhymes

Master Plan

Flowers are growing, the grass needs mowing.
Pollen is in the air, beauty is everywhere.
Birds sing their songs, bunnies hop along.
Clouds dance on by, up in a beautiful sky.
Babies in the wombs, gorgeous afternoons.
Youth, fresh and lean, it's all so serene.
The ground newly plowed, attracts a crowd.
Birds stealing worms, as the soil is turned.
Springtime once again, it's the Master plan.
Memories flood my mind, of a former time.
I was young and spry, and that's no lie.
Full of pep and zeal, I climbed every hill.
Now, I'm a little slow, but I can still go.
I'm barefoot in the grass, as in the past.
I smell the scent, and I'm so content.
My youth is gone, but I'm holding on.
I don't regret, and I don't forget.
The good in my life, or even the strife.
I learned some things, and lived my dreams.
