The Kid In MeThe kid in me wants to be loved for who I am, I want to be loved simply because I exist, the kid in me wants to be separated from what I have, what I do, and what I know, The kid in me wants to be admonished and put into my place whenever I exalt myself, The kid in me wants the Power that made me to take the credit for everything that I have, including my beloved family and friends --- The kid in me wants to be told to STOP whenever I do something, say something, or think something I shouldn't, Even if it's the right thing for the wrong reasons, I'd like to be told to STOP, The kid in me wants to be told not to break their hearts even before I have the chance to offend, For everyone else has feelings just like I do, as well as needs and desires! The kid in me wants the Power that made me to tell me to STOP and not to break His heart, The kid in me wants Him to tell me to stay close to Him and never leave nor forsake Him, The kid in me wants Him to tell me to come to Him whenever He wants some one-on-one time with me, Even if I cannot go with my friends and family, the kid in me wants Him to tell me to spend time with Him and give Him a hug, The kid in me wants to listen to Him talk, sing, and tell stories about what He did for mankind, The kid in me wants Him to tell me how much we mean to Him as well as how He wants us to be close to Him, The kid in me wants Him to tell me how He wants to be first in our lives and give thanks for all that He does for us, And the kid in me wants Him to tell me to give Him my heart!
