poetrypoem

If ever one of us should leave

A thin tendril of his dark hair
Fell in front of his eyes.
I reached up slowly to move it
But he turned away.
Looking down into me with his
Unreadable
gorges eyes,
Mouthing 'no, no.' I wouldn't admit it,
But I knew that there was no going back
For me. It
Absolutely would never be over
As far as I was concerned.

He shook his head
And pulled me closer.
My vision began to blur with tears.
I knew
He felt the same about me.
I knew
That we were inseperable,
The only ones we could ever be happy with.
His lips slid against mine
In a ghost of a kiss.
He whispered, 'I am so sorry..'

I only wondered what he meant
Until he pulled the trigger...
