Well my little friend here we are again! Do you think the fish will bite?
My safety pin, my stick and string, and not another soul in sight!
As I watch our reflections in the water I begin to daydream, I'm just a boy and you a young pup.
And I just for a moment began to wonder, what we will be when we grow up?
I am sure we are here for a reason and someday we will both know why!
We come here everyday and we never catch any fish! So what makes us both even try?
It seems so peaceful with you at my side, that the fish didn't even matter!
The sound of the running water and the birds above give chatter!
The lesson we learn here is the Patience to wait! And the endurance to just show up!
As God prepares me for rewards so great and gives you as my comforter Pup!
You and I are much to young to understand these things, so we will just sit here and wish!
And I am sure God will put us to use somehow, and we will finally land that great big fish!
Well I came to that spot faithfully everyday with my trusty Pup at my side, and we finally landed many fish, but then my old trusty friend soon died!
He was there to teach you Patience, so before the big reward you would not give up.
Isn't it amazing what you can learn in life, just from a little pup?
I shook my fist and I was angered at God! I said why did You take my dog from me. I'll never Pray to you ever again, why did this have to be?
Don't worry my son your little Friend is fine, I come to you in many forms in your life each day!
So when you shake your fist at Me in frustration, It's just that very time that you need to pray.
