AN UNFORGIVING HEART
There is a chasm
Deep and vast
That swallows souls
Who live the past.
You cannot cross
Its dark abyss -
It steals all joy
From those remiss.
You won't escape
Its slippery slope;
It lies in wait
To bury hope.
What is this rift
That closes minds;
This narrow gorge
To some resigned?
It splits two souls;
This angry heart,
Its bitter depths
Tears worlds apart.
So, build a bridge
Across divides
And just forgive
The other side.
For one day soon
It may be true -
You'll need someone
To forgive you!
