Crashintome
Choosing Faces
Choosing the faces of a tongue surprised
searching for flavors of your child's eyes
Hate the call
as much as I write
that left me alone
on your couch at midnight
Teaching me why I came
Forgone conclusions of a baby's name
left to deal with
on New Year's Day
Too hard too swallow
enough to weigh
on a scale
that measures truth
against the words you'd say
It all seemed so much lighter
such conversations made it that way
searching for flavors of your child's eyes
Hate the call
as much as I write
that left me alone
on your couch at midnight
Teaching me why I came
Forgone conclusions of a baby's name
left to deal with
on New Year's Day
Too hard too swallow
enough to weigh
on a scale
that measures truth
against the words you'd say
It all seemed so much lighter
such conversations made it that way
