I served with men oh so brave
Years ago with our strong backs
But now so many in their graves
We lugged those 50 pound packs
So young were we in war
Always standing watch on alert
Heavy on our shoulders the task we bore
Regardless of the rank on our shirts
From Airman to Colonels and in between
The Air Force Security Police were we
Trained and ready for the unseen
The Air Force's only light infantry
One hundred and eleven left behind
Their memories never lost
Gone long before their time
Oh what a terrible cost
Now we all live with ghosts
Some locked away deep inside
Lots of us still standing our posts
While others live with lies
Unable to face the long ago past
Many wandering through a haze
Seeking for a release that will last
Hoping and praying for better days
Band together now as one in heart
All of us who all still here
Trying to help our brothers and do our part
Many of us finding peace just having them near
