GATHERING  SEASHELLS

GATHERING  SEASHELLS

With hat in hand
She walked along the beach loving the feel of her feet on the cool sand

A true southern belle by the seashore she did dwell
The waves rhythm introduced a soothing peaceful spell

Gathering a collection of all of kinds of shells
from the ocean where they had been expelled

Some were large - some were small
She sought them all

Only a few she would keep
lovingly she piled them in a heap

From far away lands they had arrived
On high waves they did ride

How long the life in each shell
Washed clean through the  eons of time it was hard to tell

Knowledge of God's little creatures - sturdy and strong
Filled her heart with a joy and a praise song

Let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills be joyful together before the Lord
