Moon Puppets
We're lucky when we find
the chance, to read, love,
drink a cold beer, jog,
day dream,
live peacefully,
without the bombs,
going off all around us,
within us, we're
on the run, we're fighting
for our lives, mind wars, memories,
pain, we're constantly thinking,
fighting, internal hell, internal war,
the next thing, next step, the pressure,
darkness, the not knowing,
gotta blacking our windows,
our headlights, guard ourselves,
it's war,
if they see our lights
the bombs will get us,
life, is when we:
break for a picnic,
for music, art, poetry, love,
fountain meditation, family, friends,
neon lights, we're alive tonight,
battle fields tend to be everywhere,
how we approach our war:
defines us,
as how we treat
each others
as how we treat
this gift.
