 Melting Chocolate
As I was reading this story today
It brought meaning in a new way
A boy was given a special treat
In a piece of chocolate so sweet

He saved it, holding it in his hand
But later, he could not understand
It melted there, leaving a dark place
Without ever making it to his face

Life may be like a piece of chocolate
Earthly things with value and weight
We hold on to with such a firm grasp
They seem so real but they do not last

Jesus' death on the cross led the way
Making a mark that won't melt away
Nail imprints in His feet and hands
Visible proof He fulfilled God's plan

Now the choice is left up to you and me
He paid the price, our souls to redeem
I have placed my trust in Him alone
Forgiveness of my sins He did atone

Be open and honest, examine the facts
Is your life with Jesus firmly on track?
Or do other things grab your attention
Leaving God out of all your intentions?

God knows the motives of your heart
His love for you He will always impart
When Jesus is the focus of all you do
Lives of others will be impacted too

Proverbs 16:2 (NIV)
All a man's ways seem innocent to him,
but motives are weighed by the LORD.
