Fluctuations of Faith and Flesh
Fluctuations of Faith and Flesh
The fluctuations of faith and flesh
My life, it seems, to enmesh
With faith, I can do anything,
Yet, flesh will cause unrelenting pain.
I struggle against the mighty foe,
That seems to cause me perilous woe,
Yet, faith in God will see me through
No matter what I try to do.
Not on my own understanding, I must lean,
But give it all over to my Lord and King.
Washed in his blood, so crimson red,
For, t'was for me, HE sorely bled.
Let this vain flesh die, I humbly plead,
Answer not, my wants, but what I need.
Cleanse this heart, allow me to seem
A total reflection of Your dream.
Let me bare my cross, as I rise,
Ever pointing to Your Heavenly skies.
Walk beside me as I trod this path,
Bring me home to You at last.
