When love begins its budding time
That which feed both warmth and hope
Upon the mind is more sublime,
Like a star upon the twilight sky.
And the inner eye exaggerates
The measure of natural things
And days and nights lose their dates
And the soul itself develops wings.
When love begins to dawn inside
The heart explodes with ecstasy
Volcanic lava tide,
And the soul creates a fantasy
That no one understands but one -
Real becomes surreal and things
No longer have their usual fun,
A thousand rhymes and songs it brings.
When love begins time extends
Until like space it endless is,
Each passing minute gently blends
Mind and soul and heart in bliss;
Like petals of the April rose
They have one fragrance true
That fill all space from head to toes -
And the heart is charged with life anew.
When love begins a dream is born
From which to wake would tears produce
And life another sphere adorns
Where thoughts beauty reproduce.
So strong the force beginning is
A universe within the universe
And shapes and forms entwined in the mist
Of eternity alone converse.
