There is a place so close to me
Where wars and strife have ceased to be;
A place where the peace of the sky
Has cushioned every fall,
Has covered every scar
They come to this place who live
Sometimes at break of day,
Sometimes when night shadows all;
And there is no need for IDs
Nor passports nor planes,
Nor searches nor strips
The bubbles and the ripples go on,
The echoes they too are carried in the wind;
The music goes on eternal and true
But no word is spoken,
No whisper is heard.
In the fusion of endlessness,
Time and mother earth give birth;
In the lips of timelessness
A kiss and a prayer
Hang cramped on a cross
Where love and hate are joined
And colours meet
And distance fades;
Where the wind and oceans end
An open smile
Welcomes goodbye.
