Little Marvin
Little Marvin
Little Marvin was a student
In a public school
Every day he didn't like it
He felt just like a fool
Little Marvin failing math
His parents were not pleased
Hated school he hated class
The children they all teased
His parents tried most everything
But nothing seemed to work
Tutors, mentors, flash cards too
They all just seemed to hurt
Then mother said I have a plan
Let's see how this will do
His father was a caring man
They found a Catholic school
Coming home from his first day
He went straight to his room
Studied hard and studied long
It felt just like a tomb
Weeks went by the same old stuff
His mother was amazed
Report cards came he brought his home
He came home with straight A's
What made him do so very well
His mother had to know
He said he was afraid to tell
Then blew his little nose
The first day at my brand new school
I knew I had to learn
These teachers there had real tough rules
I knew they all were stern
Cuz nailed upon this old plus sign
Was this poor young man
I knew this was his punishment
For doing poor in math
