Poetry For Everyday People

Soft Spoken Sun

If tears were made
of wax, we'd be living
inside a candle, we'd die
in forgiveness, we'd still
melt for love,

peace would flicker
all around us, we'd meditate
without conviction,
always on the verge of
extension, a blow away
from darkness,

even in pain, we'd be
romantic, we'd help someone
pray, we'd defy the electric
company, whisper songs
in the wind,

our tears would arouse,
hot with pain, solidify
memories with a kiss,
to think we we're helpless
in the wind.
