Keeping it Real

Keeping It Real
Let's talk for a minute, keeping it real
Let me tell you how I feel
On the real I'm as lost as a baby pup
At times I only pretend to know what's up
With all the people looking up to me
I'm not as smart as I seem to be
I do have worries, I do have fears
At times I cry, other I hold back the tears
I'm not as confident as I portray
No the real I just act that way
Real is not always what it seems to be
But real is the God who cares for me
He is real in my heart, real in my soul
I admitted that reality a long time ago
I have no power, no strength of my own
I have no answers for what's going on
If left to me, I'd be already dead
But He decided that I should live instead
There is a worth that only He could see
And saw fit to place a gift within me
Other than that, I'm just a lump of clay
I came from dust, and I'll return that way
Giving Christ Jesus total control
Is the only way to say my soul
Jesus died on the cross and rose again
Leaving below the death on sin
He is the Son of God, despite how some feel
And he will return, and that's keeping it real
