 Poems by The Old Cowboy

Still I Weep

She lay in her room asleep
Alone she was when the Angel came

I asleep in my room too
Not knowing that she was leaving

The morning sun awoke me early
Checking on Mom I found her gone

No life left in her frail body
Pain less now in her long sleep

Walking now on heavens clear roads
With Dad hand in hand they stroll

Though we are left here alone
Peace we find within knowing

She and Dad are now home
In God‘s safe care and keep

Even though I still sometimes weep
I will go on in this life and wait

For the time we all reach the shore
And walk side by side in paradise
