SLEEPY COVERACK

 SLEEPY COVERACK

The anchored boats sway from side to side
With the restless motion of the tide,
They`re all tied up waiting for a new day
To go and catch fish outside the bay.

Out of the water the seal pops his head
He must be happy and very well fed,
As very close to the harbour wall
The fishermen threw some of their trawl.

Now tonight the anglers won`t get a bite
The fish will see the seal and they`ll take fright,
But if they happen to take the bait
All the seal has to do is lie in wait.

Sitting high upon the harbour wall
I watch as night begins to fall,
The sea is darkened by the lack of sun
Lights shimmer on the sea as day is done.

The pace of life here seems ever so slow
But I think it`s time now for me to go,
Glancing once more at sleepy Coverack
One thing is for sure, I will be back.
