 A   PATH   WORTH   TAKING

No path that is worth our time and step
Will be smooth and even and plain
Try as we might a meandering way
It sometimes rests in vain

A gate we might reach, a turn-stile or pike
A crossroads, shall we turn left or right
A river to cross where we lose our depth
We glance away for a moment and miss a sight

Friendships are founded, and love may bloom
For every single stranger could be our best friend
Come hold my hand and walk this life
Smile at all we meet, let's start a crazy new trend

Dour expressions as the world drags us down
Illness, loneliness and everyday bills
But walking life's path with the sun on our backs
Fulfilment and happiness doth our heart fill
