…At 40…They say life begins at 40... And I always thought it true? But that's a load of crock! A false illusion too! I thought when I was 40... My life would really excel? Well unfortunately, it did... Now it's sheer bloody hell! Instead of being on top of the world- I'm down in the bowels of hell, Every thing is falling to bits, Cos me body's never well. I've aged before me time, I'm deteriorating fast! They say life begins at 40... But omits we'll be feeling last! When they say life begins at 40... Part of that is right… But who'd have thought or dreamt? That we'd look such a fright? They say life begins at 40... But the skeleton wasn't told- It's fallen apart, and broken me heart! I'm not in the 'normal' mode! They say life begins at 40... But there isn't any doubt, It's on the decline - no more time, It's the end, over and out! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
