It well could be life is but an exam
With little to do with earthly gain-
But qualities within that matter so
As to have these qualities to retain-
It well could life is a class of students
Learning as through life we go-
Some becoming better at what they are doing
Others due to distractions just a little slow-
Some that see this life as an exam
Feeling there is a greater power to respect-
Would be ahead of those that do not
And have some catching up one could suspect-
It well could be said so many waste their time
Collecting things that matter not along the way-
Things that do not count in this exam
Feeling they well could live forever and a day-
It could well be said that excuses in this class
Will not give a soul a better mark at end of day-
And that only concentration on the exam at hand
It well could be said will count at end of play-
