Time in a life seems forever,
Yet forever a life cannot be,
But while you are here please remember
To give it your best and be free.
Free, to swim in the bluest of water,
To ride the wild surf on the sea,
Taste of the salt on smiling sweet lips
As they hoot and holler with glee.
Free, to swing in the trees like a monkey,
To dangle with arms swinging free,
Feel the rush of your blood as it travels
And enables your third eye to see.
Free, to roam 'cross the deserts of white sands,
Where an oasis of water you'll find,
As your thirst builds in hunger within you
It will fill you with nature's clear wine.
Free, to look where your eyes wish to take you,
Without fear, or nearness of sight,
Let them cast their glance to the blue sky above
Where they marvel at young wings in flight.
Free, to dance when you hear music playing,
Regardless of where that might be,
In a hall full of joy, or a room full of toys
Or a meadow with grass 'neath your feet.
Free, to play with innocence like children,
Who look all about them in awe,
They see everything, like the beauty within
A wee puppy just licking its paw.
Free, to love with arms full of passion,
That is waiting for someone to hold,
To give to that someone your whole heart
And stay by their side, and grow old.

~ Freedom, it often times comes hard. But that certainly
can't stop one from hoping and wishing it for not only
one's self, but for others as well, and it certainly
didn't hinder the inspiration for this poem. ~ R.B.
