Poetry For Everyday People

True Message

Religion
is a sort of
mass meditation,
different people,
different cultures,
meditate in different ways,
but the search to put
peace in our hearts,
our lives, isn't different,
it's an honest human need,

yet if you're religion
requires you to hate
anyone: it's wrong,
if it requires you
to judge: it's wrong,
if it's telling you
you're better or
superior to another:
it's wrong,

it's not which church
you go to on Sunday:
it's how pure your
heart is everyday,

agendas don't make
a religion, they are
a mockery of faith,

religion exists
for no other reason
than to bring peace
home, inside understanding,

to embrace
instinctual morality,
a sense of thankfulness,
for the chance,
a sense of respect,
for the unknown,
for one another,

we are
sharing
the greatest gift,

the ultimate
journey,

and there is no room
nor time
to hate
without true reason,

nor to judge
life's wind,

for it is the air
we all breath,
together.
