"Everything changes and stays the same"
So grand this Celebration
Crossing the millennium of age
Ecstatic with possibilities as we reach for
Greatness at the very touch of fingertips
Even the blind can see beyond intelligence
For communication escapes the catapult of expression
A flight through the sonic boom
Caught
By a speck within the eye of history
Fairy tale story encased within disillusions
And within the ballroom even the glass slipper
Just didn't seem right for the occasion
Glory days of gender were chastised
And one wondered about skin of beauty
Thoughts that never ended became lips
Smirking within the hearts of men
As apologies couldn't control the aftermath
Why to understand and cry the tales of civil war
Streets over run with waves of domination
Because of insecurity touching the minds
From the wails of children to the scars of blood stained
One humbled to hide the frustration of a society
A small grasp of a few words that create reality
Everything changes and stays the same
So grand this celebration
Looking into the souls of Angels
For at the genesis one creation
Became the symbol of generations
Yet through simplistic knowledge and wisdom
Even the wolves hunt their prey
It is such that one finds the soldier of future
Grasping his weapon of shield to defend
With words of intellect and a mind opened
To the insensitivity of one who bears his sword
Lashing at his own veins
Hoping to strike down the cries of his own creation
For fear of being silenced
And to be heard of no more
Fallen...
Defeated...
Silenced....
