Xmas GleeIf you haven't already discovered, Xmas madness is full on again, Grandkids dropping unsubtle hints ‘Get me a robot with programmable brain'. Let's get twenty thousand LED twinklers, And we will help smother your house, Creating an Xmas wonderland of light, The envy of every one, both man and spouse. And Grandma, what about a nodding Santa, Or maybe one that can sing and dance, Because he is the hero of Xmas time, No one else can get a kid's second glance. Oh Santa, I am so glad you are here, Your Xmas deliveries have me jumping with glee, I have discovered that this season is all about me, Yeah, heaps of presents left at the base of the tree. Not so my dear child, please let me explain, A simple equation that will challenge your brain, If X is something quite unknown, And Y is a point in a past time zone, Then why does it equal such an event Celebrated annually three months before Lent? The answer is deceptively simple, The X can be found by any who seek, A unique babe in Bethlehem born, The Messiah, the Christ, born to save, He lived, died and rose from the grave. Now that we know the value of baby X, Let's celebrate Christmas as he would expect, By rejoicing at God's gift to man, By singing carols as loud as we can, And confessing that Christmas is not all about me, We have something far greater under Calvary's tree, The gift of eternal life to any who will believe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For God so loved the world That he gave his one and only son, So that whoever believed in him, Should not perish, but have everlasting life.
