Martinvsville Courthouse, A Part Of My Delivery Route
Did you notice that courthouse and courtesy start the same way?
When I first walk in the door they smile and say;
"Albert, how are you today?"
They greet everyone politely even though they have a position
of authority.
May we point you in the direction of whom you need to see?
Even though they don't think I'm paying them any mind,
I have taken notice of how they are so kind.
We all need to appreciate acts of kindness as the world waxes worse.
On a daily basis these sheriffs do rehearse.
Even though I don't know every name,
I pray my heavenly father blessed them all the same.
It's time to mention at the top of the stairway
With beautiful smiling faces they greet me in the same way.
With such wonderful, cheerful words as sweet as sugar and spice,
They helped me in my church raise money and didn't think twice.
God commands blessings for this act of love.
He opens the windows of heaven and pours blessings out from above.
Also, I won't forget last Christmas when they all gave money.
For me and my family and the card was also signed by Judge Craney.
This ends my poem that comes straight from my heart.
Jesus loves us all the same. He will never part.
