There comes a time when doggie tales
Will end and take their wagging tails
Unto a place where puppies go
Not hearing stay or hearing no
They run about making new friends
Sniffing, kissing, until no end
Jumping fences of wood and wire
Scaling, scampering, till their paws tired
They learned these tricks by you who held
In arms, on leash where time would tell
How dear best friends you three would make
Today now gone brings two heartaches
No need to cry, mother we're well
A bit achy but all is swell
You see we have a yard here too
Behind God's house where old are new
New as pups that bark and bite
Playing fetch from dawn till night
With other dogs and new found friends
Where all pets go and are Godsends
I'll miss our walks and day trips too
How could we not for we loved you
Forgive my mess and things I tore
When you walked in and out the door
For it was then when you would show
Your love all mine who had to go,
