There are many but only one
Grandfather, husband, brother and son
Carl Delbert Strong who gave his all
In life he lived, by GOD " Gigs " called
Card player, jester who played
More than a few jokes in his day
Would watch Taylor with chalk in hand
Create fine art for this grand man
Walks to the store back in the day
Would bring sweet treats by hands that paid
The counter clerk who'd always tease
Boyfriend to her, " Gigs " stood by pleased
Small garden would grow cucumbers
When not awake Carl sat and slumbered
In his favorite seat of choice
His Lazy Boy snoozing, rejoiced
He longed for Spring so he could go
To see the crops and fields that flowed
Of Blueberries, Tomatoes gold
That would ripen in time he'd hold
Story teller, but more fine fellow
Carl was a man alive and mellow
Who saw the brighter things that made
His life complete, the best GOD saved
