 THE TRAVELING LIFELONG BUSH POET

Looking  Back V's Looking Ahead

Earth

Standing right now in the now
Wondering what will be instead-
Looking back how things have changed
Looking then ahead instead-
Over my time here on earth
I've seen how things have changed-
Most that was better than what we now have
Has all been swapped , redone , rearranged-
I wonder in as much time to come
Say in the year 2068-
Will we be those good old days
All now wiped from life's slate-
Or will logic and common sense prevail
And will they leave things now as are-
Before they pass the too late line
Or have we already come that far-
I will not be here then at all
But many I adore will be for sure-
And knowing what I feel I do today
That worries me even ever so more-
Is right now going to be those good old days
Will then all look back somewhat with regret-
Or will some stand for leaving much as is
Before the too late clocks are set-
looking back and looking ahead
Are we going to be those good old days-
Or is trying to turn the clock back some
Going to be earths last most sensible craze-
