Disintegration

First of all it needed a telescope
But as time went quietly by
You could see it growing
By the unaided naked eye
A sudden patch of red
Which really very soon
Started taking shape
Up there on the Moon

An outline of a sentence
Growing letter by letter
And as each one completed
Earth could see it better
Thanks for the company
But now I'm moving on
And as Earth wobbled on its axis
The Moon flickered and was gone
