A very special thanks to Robert Page for taking the time to work with me on this poem. Bob... just so you know my college is having a poetry contest and I think I'll submit this poem (by end of this month) With your help, I've revised the rhythm, and retitled it...."My Loving Sun". This is a spiritual write. Thank you, I appreciated your assistance. I also thank my "twin-in poetry".. (my muse) for your idea. Thank you both
My Loving Sun
I awoke from disturbing dreams
And had to clear my mind,
With a poem on the verge of birth
‘Spot on' words I had to find.
My sleepy eyes seek solace
Across rolling hills of frost,
On this cold November morning
When I'm feeling a little lost.
My loving sun begins to rise
Through the cherry colored breeze,
Fiery pink and red beams glare
Through trees once clothed in leaves.
Seasons in time will always move
As true-love quickly steps aboard,
It's then I feel His familiar presence
Ah… It's the One I've felt before!
I desire to see with discerning eyes
In silent morns so much like these,
His calming voice reaffirms His love
When I wear my heart upon my sleeve.
And when my loving sun moves high
I'll take one glance into my air,
And feel love's energy for my soul
When faithful arms of love are there.
To comfort through my lifetime path
Guiding on my journey's way,
I know the sun's sweetly kissed,
Across this autumn season day.
Coincidence? Maybe.. but I feel
His love inspires searching thought,
Behold it's done this poem's complete
The loving sun gave words I sought!
