Pronghorns on the prarie always on the run
racing in a cluster seems to be their fun
Riding close in hot persuit
watching as those buggers scoot
feel the rocks and dust fly by
as they race fast I close my eyes
some say they have roped one, I bet that was a scene
some travel here to hunt and shoot, others think that mean
I just watch and thank the Lord, that he didn't say
I must be a Pronghorn, even for a day.
Hundreds of these silly beasts have moved to graze on my wheat fields.
They run through fences and cause a great deal of damage.
Even though they are a pain they do have a certain majestic quality.
Perhaps my desire to eliminate them will diminish if I find something good.
